[Harp-L] Favorite 2004 CDs
Helllo and happy new year! Here's some CDs that I've enjoyed last year:
Steve Shaw's "Blowing Through the Reeds"
A nice variety of traditional Irish tunes played mostly on diatonics. Nice
arrangements. Steve is a great harmonica enthusiast and has a great website.
Tony Eyer's "Black Mountain Harmonica"
A nice selection of traditional Irish and American fiddle tunes. Tony uses a
unique tuning for his diatonics. Very lively, driving, punchy stuff.
Chris Michalek's "hey is for horses"
Amazing playing. Someday I hope to be able to manipulate the notes on my
harp like this!
Jason Ricci's " Feel Good Funk"
My new harp hero! Meeting this guy recently and seeing him play has been
very inspiring.
PT Gazell's "Pace Yourself"
A great CD! Some great bluegrass, ballads, and more. PT is currently blowing
valved diatonics and he has amazing expressive and chromatic control on
these things. Having heard a bit of his new stuff recently, I can't wait for
his next CD!
cheers,
James
